SeekingSitters Franchise Information

SeekingSitters is a franchise for a business providing babysitting referral services.

It was founded in 2004 and started franchising in 2006. They help people find sitters either for a one-time event, part-time, or full-time service. They say that all the sitters that they have referred has undergone through background screening.  This is done to make sure that they are trustworthy and reliable. They also offer membership through their website so that you can login and request a sitter.

You just place the request and they will be the one to do the looking. Their sitters are all certified and have extensive experience. The sitter’s profiles are available online for you to check. Each location is individually owned, bonded, and insured. Some of their corporate clients include the Washington Nationals, Baltimore Ravens, and Oklahoma City Thunder to whom they provide sitting services on each home game. They now have 56 locations in the United States and three locations that are company owned.

What kind of service can you expect from a sitter referred by SeekingSitters?

They go by S.T.Y.L.E.

First is Safety which means that each of their sitters have licenses to do CPR and first aid which are updated constantly. They also have extensive experiences in childcare for all ages with which SeekingSitters have verified from their references.

Second is Time where the sitters are geared up for every contract. They carry a bag full of activities appropriate for the age of the child which also helps keep TV time at a minimum and spend more time interacting.

Third is Yack where yacking of sitters on the phone is reserved for only emergencies.

Fourth is Look refers to the overall look of the sitter wearing the sitter shirt and backpack will help put your child at ease.

Fifth is the Exit wherein the sitters will leave your home as it was when you left or even better while making sure that toys are picked up, dishes are cleaned, and all the materials used at the babysitting event will be kept.

What do they require of each sitter before being referred to a family?

They have the pre-screening qualifications such as at least 18 years old, have extensive childcare experience, and have reliable transportation.  This process is done through the online application. After that, there will be an in-person interview done by the local owner. The Background Investigation is done by Hide and Seek which is an in-house private investigation company. They verify their licenses on CPR and First Aid and make sure that it is up to date. There would also be reference checks where they contact previous work history. After every job, they will receive feedback which is included in their online profile.
