It all started in 1985 in Plano, Texes. Joe Croce had a dream of having a pizza restaurant that is affordable and family-oriented. This was when he thought of putting up a pizza chain that offers an all-you-can-eat price point. The current Chief Executive Officer of Cici’s is Mike Shumsky.

He has carried on the visions of Joe. Cici’s now has 650 locations in 33 states like Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Virginia. They have 300 more that are currently being developed. They have received numerous awards of recognition.

They got the “best Customer Service Award” in 2005, 2006, and 2007, and “Best in Value” in 2006. In 2007, Entrepreneur magazine named Cici’s as the top brand in the Italian restaurant franchise category. It was also ranked as number one in the pizza industry in 2008 by the Franchising Business Review. In March of 2009, Men’s Health magazine included them in the list of America’s Healthiest Restaurants.

What’s on the menu? They are famous for the affordable buffet of pasta, salads, desserts and pizza. If you have a kid who’s 3 years old and below, he or she can have the whole buffet for free. Their pizza dough is made from scratch every day and this assures you of its freshness.

For pasta, they have it topped with marinara sauce and that’s only one of it. Their pasta ingredients are always fresh and you can make and design your own every time. For dessert, you can have cinnamon rolls, apple pizza, or soft brownies. They have a wide variety of pizzas in their buffet.

Classic Cici’s favourites are Italian Sausage, Ham and Pineapple, Beef Topping, Ham, and Pepperoni. The Signature and Ultimate Creations include Buffalo Chicken, Pepperoni Jalapeno, Spinach Alfredo, Zesty Veggie, Deep Dish, Macaroni and Cheese, Zesty Ham and Cheese, Thin Crust Italiano, and Flip Pizza. The prices are approximately around $5 per person but it may vary depending on location.

While you enjoy your meal, you are also helping their partners in doing community service. “Happy Hill Farm” is one of them. It’s a non-profit organization that helps boys and girls who has academic and behavioural problems. Another charitable organization that they’re in partner with is the “Big Brothers Big Sisters”.

What do you need to be a franchisee of Cici’s Pizza? You need to have a total liquid asset of at least $134,600-$213,900. Total investment is at around $448,510-$712,860. Franchise fee is $30,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 4%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement.

What’s included in the franchise package? There will be 8-12 weeks training. This also includes the franchisees newsletters and meetings. They will assist you in the grand opening and install security and safety procedures at your location. They will also do evaluations on your locations performance. National marketing and advertising support is included and even local advertising.
