Webby Dance Company is a franchise for a business providing dance classes for children. It was founded in 1975 and started franchising in 1999. It was founded by Helen Palma and opened the first dance studio in Lakewood, California.
One of the studio parents approached her and asked her if she could conduct dance classes at the preschool where her child is in. She was hesitant but she accepted the opportunity. She immediately realized that a mobile program is very convenient to parents when eight children signed up as soon as the offer became available for the first class. It was successful that they had hundreds of children started enrolling to the program.
The school and parents was appreciative of the idea and praised Helen. She lived with the philosophy “Have children experience the joys of self expression through fun and love in a nurturing environment.” Becky Weber, her daughter expanded the business is the West Coast and continued to develop the program. The first category is dance which includes 300 dances using different props such as Tambourines, Maracas, Pompons, Streamers, Leis, and Fans.
The Second category is the Yoga Classes which is focused on building the child’s skills in relaxation, concentration, self confidence, coordination, and imagination. They use music appropriate for kids and involve meditation and affirmation.
The Third category is Gymnastics. They have designed different stations like balance beams, mini trampoline, tumbling mat, tunnel, and rhythmic ribbons.
The Fourth category is the Cheer Classes. They are taught the basics in cheering, game time routines, chants, motions, gymnastics, jumps, kicks, and stunts. This helps promote positive team building.
