Primrose School Franchise Information
Primrose School is a franchise for a business providing educational child care. It was founded in 1982 by Paul and Marcy Erwin.
The first location was opened in Atlanta, Georgia. Their new concept in child care which makes education part of the business is what helped them in their success. When they opened their fourth location in 1988, they decided to start franchising the concept. Their consultant in developing the franchise and marketing was Jo Kirchner. She was impressed with the commitment to excellence by the school and she said that it was something that she could not find, as a mother, for her two children.
In 1990, Ms. Kirchner eventually sold her marketing company and officially joined Primrose School. Their dream was to be able to develop and provide first-class child care education. In 1999, the Erwin’s retired and Ms. Kirchner took over the business as the President and CEO and she remains as such today. They formed a partnership with Roark Capital Group in 2008. In 2010, they opened the Primrose School of Education which trains franchise owners and school staff members. They now have 231 locations in the United States and one location that is company owned.
