Preppy Pet is a franchise for a pet boarding, daycare, and spa. It was founded by Jerry and Melanie Gore in 2003 and opened their first location that same year in Orlando, Florida.

They met Jim Dietz in 2005. He’s The Franchise Doctor. They started franchising in 2006. Together with their son, Danny, and his wife Nicole, they were able to grow the business as it is now. In March 2006, they opened their first franchise. In December of 2007, they opened their 10th location and in January of 2008. They were named the biggest doggie daycare and pet boarding company in Florida.

What services do they offer at Preppy Pet?

Firstly, they have boarding not only for dogs but also for birds, cats, and other small animals. This includes a whole day and night with about 5 walks outdoor. They would be fed food that you provided. Their suites area has a TV and any additional pets you may have that would be sharing is always half the price. They have 5 types of suites ranging from the mini suite up to the super suite. The cats also have their private condos called the Kitty Hawk and if you have other pets like birds, or fish, you will need to bring their cages or aquariums together with toys and treats. The suites and play areas are climate controlled.

For doggie daycare, they have activities like for the yacht club, racquet club, or country club play. They can play with toys, have naptimes and outdoor walks. For the spa treatment, it includes the bath with fruit scented detergent-free shampoos, skin conditioner with natural oatmeal bath for the sensitive pooch, ear cleaning, nail clipping, plus a bandana or a bow. Boarding and spa treatments starts at $14.95.

You need to have a net worth of at least $100,000. Expect to be investing about $127,000 to $261,000. Franchise fee is $34,500 to $39,500 with an on-going royalty fee of 4-6%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement.
