Maaco is a franchise for a business providing automotive body repair and painting. It was founded in 1972 and started franchising that same year. They repair about 12,000 vehicles in a week.
Since 1972, they have repaired about 16.5 vehicles which make them the one who repairs the most vehicles in North America. They say that they are known to be “America’s Body Shop”. Their headquarters is located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania while their Executive Officers are in Milton, Ontario, Canada. They now have 425 locations in the United States, 32 locations in Canada, and six locations that are company owned.
What services do they offer at Maaco?
For Auto Paint and Body Repair, they provide Overall Painting wherein they paint the entire surface. This makes an old car look like it is new and increases its resale value. Spot Painting is when they paint only the damaged areas of a new care and maintain its resale value. Spot Painting is when they paint only a small part of the car to save on having to paint the whole car for a small damage.
They have a process that they use to match the color of the paint with the car. After that, they apply a clear body coat to make the gloss match throughout the car. They also offer clear coat auto paint. They repair salt damage, fading color, environmental damage, rock paint chips, auto paint cracking, loss of paint gloss, old and porous auto paint, clear coat paint delamination, rust through, and auto body surface rust. For Auto Collision Repair, they do auto body collision repair, auto body surface repair, dent repair, car bumper repair, and auto parts replacement.
They also offer Fleet Maintenance Services. It comes with cost metrics, centralized billing, administrative fleet management of their national programs, accident management, re-identification, and remarketing. Some of their big fleet service clients are DHL, Aramark, and enterprise rent a car.

You need to have a net worth of $300,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $90,000. Expect to be investing about $110,000 to $473,000. The cost of Maaco franchise fee is $20,000 to $40,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 9% to 8%. This is for a renewable 15 year term agreement. You will need about seven to eight employees to run one location. They do not allow absentee ownership.
What is included in the franchise package?
There will be four days training at the headquarters, four weeks at your location, and on-going trainings. You will be receiving newsletters and a toll free phone number. You will be provided assistance at the grand opening. You will be given access to the internet and to purchasing cooperatives. Expect to be attending meetings and receiving occasional field evaluations to check on your progress. For marketing support, there will be ad slicks, regional advertising, and national media.
