LearningRx Franchise
LearningRx is a franchise providing programs to improve memory, I.Q., and attention span. It was founded in 1986 and started franchising in 2003.
It was founded by Dr. Ken Gibson and a group of other professionals. They all met to talk about the current learning process. As they went on for months discussing the same topic, they had different inputs that came about a new way of looking at learning issues. Dr. Ken Gibson had a history of reading struggles which resulted to him behind in learning. Back then, no one knew what he was going through and he had to work harder than most and persevered to be able to get to where he is now.
These days, his case was labelled as dyslexic. He found out that his condition was not as unique as he thought it was. There were others like him and he wanted to help them. The Gibson’s now also have their own “Learning Lab” at home and his eldest daughter, Kim, is now a training coach, master trainer, and the Vice President of Support and Training Services at LearningRx. Their researches and learning theories that they developed are being applied in a few preschools which are now one of the firsts in the country that include psychologists and psychiatrists as part of their advisory board. They believe that this helps the children in advancing their mental skills.
Who do they help at the LearningRx?
They help children who are diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Attention Issues. They believe that isolation and medication therapy is not the solution to help these children but providing a more promising solution through the right approach. They also help those with autism and other syndromes by providing them a positive structure and addressing their cognitive needs. They even help career adults through adult brain training that develops their problem solving ability. They also help those with reading problems and dyslexia, senior adults, and struggling students among others.
What is brain training?
Whenever we think, groups of neurons work together physically to finish a task. If you are thinking about something difficult, other nearby neurons come together to help the others. What LearningRx does is provide intense mental workouts to strengthen and create new neural pathways. They refer to this as “rewiring” the brain or creating “information highways”. LearningRx researches prove that has an ability to grow at no matter what age.
