Kidproof Safety Franchise
Kidproof Safety is a franchise providing safety education. It was founded by Samantha Wilson in 2000.
Samantha Wilson was a former police officer and she is an internationally known expert in child and family safety. In her job, she knows a lot of information that are cutting edge and informative about child safety. This information was only shared by the law enforcement and other agencies. It is not classified information but it just did not reach those who really needed to know it, who is the children. With this in mind, she formed Kidproof to communicate this information to families and children.
Samantha Wilson said “We were formed for one reason, to help raise child safety awareness by empowering children and parents with knowledge that they can draw from in case of an emergency or dangerous situation”. She started the company as a small community service in Ontario, London, and in Canada. They held child safety programs and seminars. They aim to keep families informed and in the end, keep children safe. They have formed partnerships with the Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, City Corporations, Colleges, and Community Centers. They now have four locations in the United States, 11 in Canada, two in other countries, and one that is company owned.
What classes do they offer at Kidproof Safety?
They have Child Safety courses for ages five to 10 and up and it includes Never Be Lost for five to seven years old, Safe Kids for five to seven years old, Stranger Smarts for seven to 10 years old, Bully Proofing for seven to 11 years old, Cybersafe for eight to 11 years old, I Wanna Talk eight years old and up, Safe Sport for eight to 11 years old, A Girl’s Way for 11 to 14 years old, At Home Alone for 10 years old and up, At Home Alone + First Aid for 10 years old and up, Babysitter Training for 11 years old and up, and the Kidproof Babysitter Bootcamps for 11 years old and up.
For Parent Seminars, they have Safe Kids Safe Families: Empowering Parents with Knowledge and Protecting Kids Online: From Street Savvy to Internet Savvy. They also offer after school programs and group bookings.
Costs and requirement on running a Kidproof Safety franchise
You need to have a net worth of $250,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $75,000. Expect to be investing about $47,000 to $63,000. The Kidproof Safety Franchise fee is $35,000. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. They require a general business experience, marketing skills, and that you have no criminal record. You will need about one to three employees to run one location. This business can be run from home. They allow multi unit ownership and absentee ownership.
What is included in the franchise package?
There will be four days training at the headquarters. You will be receiving newsletters and a toll free phone number. You will also be given access to the internet. Expect to be attending meetings and having occasional field evaluations. For marketing support, there will be co-op advertising, ad slicks, regional advertising, and national media.
