Kidokinetics Franchise

Kidokinetics is a mobile franchise for a fitness program for children. It was founded in 1995 by Terri Braun.

It started from her passion to find and develop children’s athletic potential. She has been into sports her entire life. She has competed at national and international karate events with a third degree black belt from the traditional Shotokan Karate. She was teaching and training in karate for 20 years. She was also a sports teacher in childhood centers. Terri Braun says that “My greatest joy is to build children’s confidence and develop their love of fitness”. In the process of developing Kidokinetics, she consulted with occupational therapists, physical therapists, youth development counsellors, clinical psychologists, and school directors.

Their programs focus on “confidence – desire – discipline”. Not every child was born with an athletic ability but their goal is to open them up and give them a chance to develop their skills. They help each child reach their individual goals. Another concern that parents have that the program also want to address is the increasing rate of obesity in children. They now have three locations in different states such as Florida, Texas, and North Carolina. They have one location that is company owned.

What programs do they offer at Kidokinetics?

The sports programs are an exposure to a wide range of sports including other physical exercises that are important. They offer these sports programs to preschools and elementary schools. They teach the basics of different sports and other important things they need to know about physical fitness. This is a play-oriented introduction to sports and they feature a different sport each week. This way, the parents and the child can decide on what fits them best.

The enrichment programs are usually held in private schools, preschools, elementary schools, community centers, parks, hotels, summer camps, health centers, and gyms. A session lasts for about 45 minutes and conducted with 15 children and one coach. To boost a child’s confidence, they give a certificate for the “Kid of the Week”. They also have programs that are designed to bring the child closer to their parents. For children who are 18 to 36 months old, they have the Mommy and Me and Daddy and Me programs.
