Creative Tutors Franchise
Creative Tutors is a franchise for a tutoring center. It was founded in 1999 by Jan Van Blarcum, Ph.D. She recognized the individual needs of every child.
She knew that it was important to children to be given one-on-one tutoring for them to grow. She put up the business and hired certified and post grad educators. In 2004, she decided to franchise the business and she began perfecting the franchise model. Sue Waite-Langley is the Western Regional Manager and Operations Manager and she’s the one working with Dr. Van Blarcum in the growing process. She graduated from University of Connecticut with a degree in BS in Finance. She contributes her 30 year experience in financial planning, business management, technology sales and as a business manager in a private school. She also has two daughters in college and two grown stepchildren. Together with her business experience, she understands the needs of children and parents. Creative Tutors is a member of IFA (International Franchise Association) and associated with NWC (Northwood Woman’s Club). They have also been featured in several Medias like Enterprise Magazine, Pittsburgh Business Times, and Entrepreneur.com.
What services do they offer at Creative Tutors?
They provide homework assistance, Science fair projects, home schooling enrichment, and guidance for children who has special needs. They also provide assistance in preparation for standardized tests such as TAKS, SAT, PSAT, and ACT. Besides these, they teach language arts, mathematics, foreign languages, sciences, social studies, and history.
What makes Creative Tutors different from other tutoring businesses?
First, they provide individual attention. They personalize the instruction depending on the need of the child. They recognize their unique personalities and different attitude towards learning. From onset of the consultation, the parents will meet with the tutor to discuss the child’s specific needs. Second, they focus on unlocking the child’s potential. They make the child realize their potential in a pace that they are comfortable with. This will help increase the child’s confidences in them and at the same time learn that it is okay to ask for help sometimes. Third is their flexibility in schedules and location. Their tutors are available seven days of the week so the parents can find the perfect schedule for them and their children. They are also flexible when it comes to where it most comfortable for the students to do the tutoring sessions and it can be done at your own home.
