Founder of Scraps Dog Co., Christy Cranmer, has more than 20 years experience in training pets and veterinary tech. Christy is supporting Dawn with the philosophy she has in Scraps Dog Co. In Reno and Sparks, Nevada, Chris Houser is operating a couple of their branches. He used to be an athlete but has for the outdoors and hiking with dogs. All 3 of them are Pet First Aid and Pet CPR Certified.
What Pet Sitting services do they have? They have “QT” or Quality Time which is a 30 minute visit any time of the day. It can include things from cleaning the litter pans, watering plants, up to retrieving 8pm to 7am in your own home. You can also request for extended stays if you’ll be away on a long trip. And what’s pet sitting without the doggie walks? Just around your neighbourhood, they will take your dog for a walk for about 20-30 minutes.
Customized Services has the Pooper –Scooper, Pet food or supplies delivery, pet taxi, special needs pets even checking up on puppies while you’re away during the day. Another service offered is home care. Even if you don’t have pets, you can have them visit your home while you’re away to make it look like it is still being lived in. Under the customized services is their Doggie “Spaw” treatments which is the Doggie Coat De-Shredding Treatment and Bath, and Doggie Rubdown Massage and Lavender Treatment which they say is what they call the “ultimutt” royal treatment for your pet.
Their real specialty is the Pet Adventure Field Trips. A Midweek Doggie Field Trip would cost $25 and if you have more than 1 pet, you only have to add $15 for each as long as it’s from the same family. If you want your dog to take frequent field trip, you can purchase 8 trips at one time and trip would only cost $20, instead of $25, which would be a total of $160. They have the Fun Group Adventure Pet, High Energy Tailwaggin Adventure for active adult dogs, Little Dog, Big Cigar Adventure for the little ones that weighs 20 lbs and below, and the Big-Boned Buddies Heavyweight Adventure for dogs that needs to get in shape which includes fat-free treats. All the Adventure Trips include towel service and also paw wipe down services for your convenience.
Costs and Requirements of an Adventure Pet Franchise
What do you need to become a franchisee? Total Net Worth requirement is $20,000 and Total Liquid Asset required is $15,000. They don’t allow absentee ownership. Total investment would be at around $10,000-$15,000. Franchise fee is $7,500 with an on-going royalty fee of 5% for a 10 year term agreement.
What’s included in the franchise package? There will be four days training at the headquarters. Part of the on-going support are the newsletters, meetings, support at the grand opening, field operations or evaluations, purchasing cooperatives and ad slicks.
