Young Rembrandts Franchise Information

Young Rembrandts is a franchise for a business providing art education to children. It was founded in 1988 and started franchising in 1997. It was founded by Bette Fetter.

She started out just by teaching art to her own kids at home. She has a background in child development and fine arts. These are the two that she combined to create a system that teaches kids about drawing and visual arts. They partner with preschools, elementary schools, and community centers in providing high quality curriculum in original teaching and in an environment that is positive.

Their curriculum is focused on developing the children’s fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, visualization, order and sequencing abilities, fundamental art skills, and self discipline. They now have 77 locations in the United States, four in Canada, and seven in other countries.

What programs do they offer at Young Rembrandts?

They make their programs fun and keep the children always engaged for them to have high knowledge retention. They are known for their step-by-step method that goes with hand-in-hand with their art curriculum. Their programs are developed by educators and artists. It has different levels that are multisensory depending on the ability of each child. It is also designed so that the child will have classes to attend from preschool to elementary but would not end up repeating a certain level or subject.

For their preschool programs, they focus on how to hold a pencil, learning to follow directions, staying on the task and completing activities, understanding and drawing basic shapes, gaining fine motor skills and handwriting skills, increasing their attention span, enhancing their communication skills, developing their image vocabulary, increasing their self esteem and self confidence, kindergarten readiness, and “The Power of Discovery. The Power of Learning. The Power of Drawing”.

For their elementary programs, they focus on perspective, portraiture, realism and abstraction, still life, color theory, art history, line and patterning, fundamental and composition skills, and art vocabulary.
