The Italian Pie is a franchise for an Italian restaurant. It was founded by 1992 and started franchising in 1995.

Their first location was opened in New Orleans, Louisiana. They say that if you are an Italian-American, “pizza” and “pie” has become interchangeable. In surveys from the locals, they were given a nickname, “The Pie”. As their business grew, they also expanded their menu. They are known for their authentic Italian dishes and their gourmet pizzas. They now have 14 locations in the United States and one location that is owned and operated by the company.

What is on the menu at The Italian Pie?

Their menu may differ in every location but this one is based from a location in New Orleans. For Pastas, they have Cajun Pasta with Chicken or Shrimp, Classic Lasagna, Chicken Cacciatore, Manicotti, Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken or Shrimp, Spinach Lasagna, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Spinach Manicotti, and Specialty Pasta which is seasonal.

The pastas come with two slices of garlic bread and you can add a side salad for just an additional $1. For Appetizers, they have Breadsticks, Garlic Bread, Cheesy Bread, Baked Chicken Wings, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, and Hummus.

For Gourmet Pizzas, they have the Italian Combination with Italian Sausage, Ground Beef, Black Olives, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, onions, classic tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. They also have the Spinach and Artichoke, Garlic Shrimp, All-Meat, Vegetarian, Mediterranean, Bar-B-Que Chicken, Roasted Eggplant, Chicken Pesto, Hawaiian, Sundried Tomato, Chicken Alfredo, Chef’s Specialty, and you can also design your own pizza by choosing cheese-only then adding toppings and premium toppings. For Calzones, they have Chicken Florentine or Shrimp Florentine, Chicken, Cheese, Meatball, or design your own.

For Salads and Soups, they have Grilled Chicken or Shrimp Salad, Casa Spinaci Salad, Grilled Shrimp Caesar Salad or Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, Italian Salad, Caesar Salad, Mediterranean Salad, Greek Salad, and their soup for the day. For Sandwiches and Lavash Wraps, they have Chicken Alfredo, Bar-B-Que Chicken, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Caesar, Greek Roasted Chicken, Eggplant, Italian Special, Ham and Cheese, Muffuletta, Meatball, Roasted Chicken, Pizza Sub, Spinach or Artichoke, Roasted Eggplant, or design your own.

You need to have a net worth of $500,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $250,000. Expect to be investing about $294,000 to $431,000. The cost of The Italian Pie franchise fee is $25,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 4.5%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. You will need about 30 employees to run one location. They allow multi-unit ownership. They do not allow absentee ownership.

What is included in the franchise package?

There will be four weeks training at the headquarters and 10 days training at your location. You will be receiving newsletters and assistance at the grand opening. You will be given access to the internet and to purchasing cooperatives. Expect to be attending meetings and receiving occasional field evaluations. For marketing support, there will be ad slicks, co-op advertising, and regional advertising.
