Kinderdance International Franchise

Kinderdance is a franchise for a business that provides educational programs for children.

It was founded in 1979 by Carol Kay Harsell. She was then managing the American Academy of Dance. She founded this dance studio in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was helped by Bernard Friedman in expanding the business. The numbers tripled and they had over 600 students but they noticed that the number of students in preschool is very low. She realized that these kids are in day care centers instead.

Bernard told her that if they are in day care centers, then they should bring Kinderdance programs to them. It was an idea that she could not let pass that is why the next day, she went to a day care centers and she was able to have six children registered. In just 30 days, they already have 60 children enrolled to the program from the day care. They started offering the program to pre-schools and other locations around the country.  In 1981, they got excited about the success of Kinderdance and that was when they started to open it to franchising nationwide. There are now 112 locations in the United States in 36 states, one location in Canada, and 12 locations in other countries like Puerto Rico, Australia, the Bahamas, Singapore, and Swtzerland.
