Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory is a franchise for a self-serve bulk candy. It was founded in 1995 and started franchising in 2002.

Their first shop was opened led by a team of executives who are veterans of the candy industry. By 2001, the number of shops grew to 20. They acquired the franchise system of Sweets from Heaven in 2003. Through the years, they developed their products, merchandising strategies, and store design. They still continue to grow their franchising system. They now have 55 locations in the United States, one location in another country, and four locations that are owned and being operated by the company.

What are the products offered at Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory?

They have a wide range of candies that customers can buy in bulks. This includes hard candies, gummies, taffy’s, nostalgic candies, jelly beans, packaged and boxed chocolates, panned and assorted chocolates, specialty toy items, fudge, bottled drinks from display case, plush toys, popcorn, cotton candy, smoothies, Dippin’ Dots ice cream, caramel apples, ice cream cakes, and chocolate dipped fruits.

These are only a few of those that they offer in the store. Other specialty items include Angry Birds Fruit Gummies, salted money licorice and licorice laces, sugar-free chocolates, Harry Potter’s Chocolate Frogs, cream sodas and a Christmas soda from Sweden, Retro Marvel Hero Candy Sticks that comes with an action card and tattoo, bubble gum cigars, Super Hero Marvel Hero PEZ, Toxic Waste in colored drums and a mystery flavour, novelty Halloween candies in bulks, World’s Largest Gummi Snake which is three feet long, freshly popped chocolate covered popcorn, fudge cakes, SF Jelly Beans and chocolates, Chocolate covered potato chips, 48 different flavours of Jelly Belly, and chocolate covered Twinkies.

They also offer Birthday Party packages that start at $25. That includes one and a half hour use of their party room for 10 children, an edible treat for each of your guest, balloons, a game of scavenger hunt with a special prize from them, use of a flat screen TV and blu-ray player, and you will be allowed to decorate as you please and bring in food. You can even add other things such as a rice krispies bar, create marshmallow pops, or a personalized candy bar.

Cost and requirements on running a Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory franchise

You need to have a net worth of $400,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $75,000. Expect to be investing about $179,000 to $349,000. The cost of Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory franchise fee is $30,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 6%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. You will need about four employees to run one location. They allow multi-unit ownership and absentee ownership.

What is included in the franchise package?

There will be seven days training at the headquarters and five days at your location. You will be receiving newsletters and a toll free phone number. You will be provided assistance at the grand opening. You will be given access to the internet and to purchasing cooperatives. Expect to be attending meetings and receiving occasional field evaluations.
