Figaro’s Pizza Franchise

Figaro’s Pizza is a franchise for a pizza restaurant. It was founded in 1981 by Corkey Gorley & Al Debacker in Salem, Oregon. They started out with the will to help meet the needs of busy families.

They knew that at that time, both parents were working outside their homes and needed something that is fast but with quality and convenience. They sold take and bake food to answer these needs. The need for mealtime preparation kept growing every year. Ken Robertson bought the company with four stores in 1986. He managed to stabilize the growth of the company that in 1994 and 1995, they installed ovens to their locations and they had a slogan “We Bake or You Bake”.

It helped broaden their market that in 1996, they successfully closed the sale of five chains to five investors. In 2001, it was bought by Ron Berger.  During his term as the chairman, he grew the company to 726 stores. After then, he sold the business but he is now serving his third term as part of the board of directors.
