Fetch! Per Care is a franchise for a pet sitting company. Paul Mann founded Fetch! Pet Care in 2002. The first location was in Berkley, California. Paul didn’t want to leave his pets in kennel boardings.
He wanted his pets to make sure that he doesn’t put his pets health at risk and wants them to receive the kind of attention as he would have given them himself. He founded it hard to find pet sitters and realized that the real good ones are consisted of only 1-2 persons and they are always booked. This was when he had his “Aha” moment. He then offered his free, in-home consultations with professionally screened, insured, and experienced pet sitters. He also set-up locations for each pet sitter to be able to accommodate every pet owner’s distinct need. After 2 years, Fetch! Expanded and covered the San Francisco Bay area and soon became the leading pet sitting company in Northern California. They then had 900 clients and 80 pet sitters. Because of its great success, they opened their first franchise in San Diego, California.
What services do they offer? They offer in-Home sitting services for cat and small pet visits and overnight sitting. They have 3 choices for dog walking: private, group off leash exercise, or midday brief walk or potty break. There also is a special program for puppies: Puppy care program, subcutaneous shots and fluids or injection, and pill administration. For dog boarding, you can either choose from private, doggie day care, and doggie evening care. For special services, they have the pet taxi, pet fitness service, pet bath, pet food supply and delivery, pet deshredding treatment, nail clipping, pet massage, dog training, hotel pet sitting, and even livestock care. They also do home care and yard poop scoop clean-up.
Costs and Requirements Associated with Running a Fetch! Pet Care franchise
You need to have a net worth of at least $25,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $15,000. Expect to be investing about $26,000 to $39,500. Franchise fee is $15,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 5%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. This franchise can be run from home and 25% of owners own more than one location. You can either have yourself as the only employee or you can hire others. They allow absentee ownership although currently, 100% of current owners are also operators.
What’s included in the Fetch! Pet Care package?
They have a support system that you will have access to. First is the training. You will have 4 days training at their corporate headquarters on running your franchise. You will also be attending a regular roundtable meeting with the CEO. For business support, you will receive operations manual and online access to the materials you’ll need in daily operations. For marketing support, there will be local and national marketing support and you will be given assistance in spreading the word of your new location. For technical support, they have a technical support team that will assist you with the software to make sure that you are able to utilize your resources to its maximum.
