Educational Outfitters Franchise

Educational Outfitters is a franchise for a business designing and manufacturing uniforms for schools. It was founded in 1998 by Jamey and Brian Elrod. The first Educational Outfitters was opened in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Their goal is to reduce the time for administrators to enforce discipline, provide the parents with a retail service that they will be happy about, and to give students a uniform that they would be proud about. They also have a partnership with “Make a Wish” foundation. They donate a part of their earnings to them. They give a percentage of every dollar they earn to support and contribute to needed scholarships, facilities, playgrounds, academic resources and technology.

Why is there a need for uniforms?

According to Educational Outfitters, it helps eliminate competition and peer pressure among the students. Wearing a uniform unites a student community that has a diverse population. It also helps increase the student’s school spirit. Imagine home much money a family spends on the children’s clothes that need to be new every now and then. Having a uniform helps families on saving money for everyday clothing. Add the time children get to save in the morning without having to choose what clothes to wear to school and would no longer have to be worried about being compared to other students who can afford to wear branded clothes. Having children wear a uniform also emphasizes the importance of school as a part of the community. It makes the students focus more on their studies rather than having to worry about what to wear. It makes people focus more on who the student is and not what he or she is wearing. With this, it gives the student’s a safer environment and keeps gaps between ethnic and socioeconomic background at a minimum. And on the school’s side, it raises their revenue. It gives them a certain prestige.
