1st Inspection Services is a franchise for a commercial and residential inspection company. It was founded in 2003 and started franchising in 2005. The founder was the officer of the Appraisal Foundation in Washington, D.C. which is a group of 50 state board directors and 52 international advisors.
They are affiliated with American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI), American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST), and National Environmental Health Association- National Radon Proficiency Program (NEHA-NRPP). The company has licenses in radon testing, commercial & residential inspection, energy inspections, termite inspections, mold testing, mortgage, real estate, and appraisal. They also have achieved realty property certifications in Global Real Estate Institute (GRI), Commodity Research Bureau (CRB), Mississippi Real Estate Commission (MREC), and Mine Safety Appliances Company (MSA). They have now inspected, appraised, and reviewed more than 10,500 residential and commercial properties.

You need to have a net worth of $100,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $12,500. Expect to be investing about $21,000 to $105,000. Franchise fee is $15,000 to $60,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 8%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. This business can be run from home. You will need 1 to 2 employees to run one location. They do not allow absentee ownership.
What’s included in the 1st Inspection Services franchise package?
There will be 3 weeks training at the 1st Inspection Services headquarters and 1 week training at your location. You will be receiving newsletters, a toll free number, and internet. You are also expected to attend meetings. There will be occasional field evaluations to check on your progress. You will also be given access to purchasing cooperatives. For marketing, there will be ad slicks and national media.
