Zoom Room Dog Agility is a franchise for a Dog Agility Training Center and Canine Social Club. It was founded in 2007 by dog trainer Jaime Van Wye.
She’s a graduate of philosophy from University of California Berkley. She’s also a graduate of North State K9 Academy. She authored the book How to Have an Ill-Behaved Dog and has been giving talks and been the Chair of Dog Daycare of the Pet Care Services Association (PCSA). She was referring dogs to agility classes in Los Angeles and later found out that there was none.
She then thought of running an agility class herself, Zoom Room. It was the first dog agility training center indoors in Los Angeles. Because of the success of its first location, they started franchising it in 2009.
What are the services they offer at Zoom Room?
Their specialty is the Dog Agility Training. This training does not only focus on training your dog but you as well. They will help you bond, and create a relationship with your dog to get mutual respect and communication skills. This has different levels.
They have the pre-agility training, agility trainings 1-4, agility league, puppy agility training, and the private agility training. This training channels on giving you and your dog a chance to have fun and focus their energy on productive activities rather than destructive ones.
They also have sessions dedicated to obedience training, puppy classes, private lessons, dog tricks, therapy dog training, scent discrimination, shy dog, and calm down.
Other services they offer is the open gym which is like an indoor dog park, rent the Zoom Room for half an hour if your dogs are not yet used to socializing, canine social club where you can set-up your next dog birthday party or breed meet-ups, and the doggy disco for special occasions. After training at the location, you can also purchase products to help you follow through with your lessons at home and are approves by the trainers. They have items like challenging puzzles, all-natural treats and chews, raw and organic dog food, dog toys, and harnesses.
Costs and Requirements Associated with Running a Zoom Room Dog Agility Franchise?
You need to have net worth of $150,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $75,000. Expect to be investing about $95,000 to $172,000. Franchisee fee is $35,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 8%. This is for a renewable 5 year term agreement. This franchise can also be operated by just 1 or 2 persons.
What is included in the franchise package?
There will be 3 weeks training at the headquarters and 3 days at your location. There’s also an on-going training through telephone and video conferencing. You will also receive newsletters; attend meetings, given a toll-free phone line, assistance at the grand opening, internet, occasional evaluation visits, and access to purchase cooperatives. For marketing, there would be co-op advertising, as slicks, regional and national advertising.
