Tutor Doctor Franchise Information

Tutor Doctor is a franchise for a business providing tutoring services. It was founded in 2000 and started franchising in 2003. It was founded by John Hooi. He said that “It’s one thing to make a dollar, but another one to make a difference”.

He simply had the passion to make a difference. They wondered why parents would have to drive far and make time in their schedules just to put their child in another group of kids which makes it even difficult for them.

That was when they thought of sending tutors to the students home instead of having parents drive their children to a tutoring center, they have the schedules of their tutors very flexible to make it easy to built in the family’s schedule, they design each curriculum specific to your child and he gets the one-on-one attention of the tutor. They now have 113 locations in the United States, 94 in Canada, 23 in other countries, and one location that is company owned.

What are ways that the tutor doctor prescribes to lessen the student’s anxiety to improve their test scores?

According to their President, Frank Milner, there are seven ways to help the student improve their test scores.

First is that they advise the student to write down their anxieties before an exam. It is a way for them to release on paper and helps them focus more on their exam.

Second is to write down counter apprehensions through positive responses for all the negativity to be cleared from their mind before the exam.

Third is maintaining a healthy diet. They cannot think well with an empty stomach and stir away from processed foods because they are what they call “stressful foods”.

Fourth is to stay physically fit. According to a study at West Virginia University, those who are physically fit get better scores.

Fifth is getting enough sleep. They say that sleep helps keep the student well rested. When they are well rested, their mood is more stable and gives them better concentration.

Sixth is aromatherapy. They say that lavender and rosemary helps increase the student’s concentration. They suggest that you can light a lavender candle while the child is studying.

Seventh is studying with a friend. They believe that the student understand the material better when they have someone to share it with.
