Kid to Kid Franchise

Kid to Kid is a franchise for a business that buys and sells new and used clothing and products for kids.

It was founded in 1992 by Shauna Sloan and her husband Brent. She forced her husband to accompany her to an upscale retail store for children. Brent is an attorney and an executive at a shopping center but he was surprised with the chic clientele of the second hand store. They realized that none of the operators have maximized the potential in this industry. They travelled across the country interviewing owners, manager, and operators to help create a concept that will change the resale format.  By the end of 1992, they opened their first location in Sandy, Utah.  They were also able to open a second store that same year and they started franchising in 1994. They now have 68 locations all over the United States and one location that is company owned.

What do they do at Kid to Kid?

They recognize the growing problem of parents when their children just outgrow their clothes and toys really fast. If you are a parent, you know how fast children grow and your cabinets would suddenly be left full with clothes that no longer fit them. Kid to Kid solves this problem. You can contact them to buy your used but still in perfect condition clothes and other things for children. After setting an appointment with them, they will use a computer program to appraise your things. You will be paid in cash depending on the item’s brand, condition, style, and its demands.

What do they buy and what do they sell at Kid to Kid?

For clothing, it should be laundered and pressed, no stains or holes, or any missing buttons. For the equipment, it should be safe, clean, and it should be working perfectly. These items include toys, bassinets, cribs, cradles, bunk beds and toddler beds, car seats that are not more than four years old, nursery decors, strollers, high chairs, and all kinds of baby equipments. They sell toys, clothing, equipment, and furniture that are new or used.
