It used to be called Cresthill by Hilton. It wasn’t successful then and only 4 out of 25 proposed hotels were built. It was changed to Hilton Garden Inn in 1996 and they did a rebranding. Since then, they already had more than 450 locations in just 10 years. Their top competitor is the Courtyard by Marriott. In 2009, they were given honors by the J.D. What’s included in the franchise package?
It includes the developmental service fee which covers the development of the location, change of ownership if applicable, or a situation which may require re-licensing. This fee covers 150 guest rooms and you may need to add to this if you plan on adding additional guest rooms. This also includes the product improvement plan fee and this is applicable if you are transforming an existing hotel to a Hilton Garden Inn. It may also include the construction extension fee and renovation work extension fee. They have the Hilton Supply Management that you can optimize or you may opt to get your supplies from an affiliate.
Training for your general manager or key personnel is required to complete training, and become certified before the opening. This also includes the computer system fees or more known to them as OnQ and other miscellaneous services such as optional additional trainings for front office operations, sales, marketing, information technology, and general management. For marketing, there will be co-op advertising, ad slicks, regional advertising, and national media.
