Hampton Hotels is a franchise for a budget hotel or group of hotels under the Hilton Worldwide brand. It’s consisted of Hampton Hotels, Hampton by Hilton, Hampton Inn, and Hampton Inn & Suites.

It was founded in 1983 and started franchising in 1984. Hampton Hotels are not a full-service hotel as they don’t have their own restaurant, amenities, and concierge services same as the full service hotels. This excludes the Hampton Boutique Hotels. They currently have 1,705 locations all over the United States, 30 locations in Canada, and 18 in other countries like Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.  39 locations are owned by the Hilton Hotels Corporation. They were famous for the 100% satisfaction guarantee that they promoted in 1989. They promise clean rooms and friendly service with every visit or they don’t expect their customer to pay for their stay. The first branch of Hampton Inn was opened in 1984 in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Hamptons have several milestones in theie history. In 2004, they launched their slogan “Make It Hampton” by unveiling over 60 new products to the standards of the hotel as part of its transformation to enhance the experience of the customers. In 2006, they were presented the Preserve America Presidential Award. In 2007, they launched their line of super-comfortable bedding package in every Hampton.

What type of rooms do they have at the Hampton Hotels?

The room option differs from Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, and Hampton by Hilton. For example, the Hampton Inn only has standard guest rooms choosing between a king bed or 2 queen beds and smoking or non-smoking. They also have accessible rooms. For Hampton Inn & Suites, they have options for suites.

What amenities do Hampton Hotels have?

It also differs in location. The usual ones at the Hampton Inn for business are the Meeting Rooms, Business Center, and the Audio/Visual Equipment Rental. They also have the Fitness Room and Pool and cribs for those bringing family along. They also allow pets except that they are expected to be walked in some areas.

Other complimentary services are the Laundry/Valet Service, Coin Laundry, and the breakfast area. For the Hampton Inn & Suites, they have duvet cover for the mattresses, a down like comforter, and a choice between foam or feather pillows. They also have complimentary hot breakfast and high speed internet access in all rooms and in the meeting rooms and lobby. They also have a fitness room.

Costs and Requirements Associated with Running a Hampton Hotels Franchise

Expect to be investing about $3,716,000 to $13,149,000. Franchise fee is $50,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 5%. This is for s renewable 10 year term agreement. You will need 25 employees to run one location. They allow absentee ownership.

What’s included in the franchise package?

There will be 2 weeks training at the headquarters and 3 days training for general managers training. You will be receiving newsletters, attend meetings, and assistance at the grand opening. You will also be provided a toll free number, internet, and access to purchasing cooperatives. Also expect occasional field evaluations. For marketing, there will be co-op advertising, ad slicks, regional advertising, and national media.
