The founders wanted to redefine the fast food industry by providing healthful quick service foods. They opened the first location in Dallas, Texas. They introduced new dishes like fresh salads, grilled paninis, fresh baked treats, and hand-crafted sandwiches.
They said that the customers quickly adapted to the menu but what caught them more were the fruit smoothies. It also caught the attention of Sports Group International which is now more known as Kahala. It was bought and placed under the umbrella of Kahala in 1999.
