Chicken Delight Franchise

Chicken delight is a franchise for a fast food chain serving primarily chicken. It was founded by Al Tunick in Illinois year 1952. It all started when Al bought deep fryers from someone who was closing out a restaurant.

He and his friends were trying to find something else to cook in it besides French Fries. It was then that he realized that chicken can be deep fried. Fried chicken was born. He found out that the juices stayed inside and it cooked fast. It was then chicken became an item on fast food chains menu. This was the birth of Chicken Delight.

Chicken Delight started small offering take-outs and deliveries. The Korean War was about to end when women came out of their houses to work and barely had time to cook. Their advertisement phrase was then “ Don’t cook tonight…call Chicken Delight.” They soon had more than 1,000 locations in the United States.
