The Swim Squad is a franchise for a business providing swimming lessons at home. It was founded in 2007 and started franchising in 2009.
It was founded by Jordan Meher. He first provided his services in Gainesville, Florida. While he was in college, he was teaching swimming on the side. The demand grew and was when he started forming The Swim Squad. The company is a team of college students and graduates that simply has the passion to teach kids how to swim. Every one of them has a certification in CPR and the Water Safety Instruction or WSI from the American Red Cross. If they don’t have this, they have experience teaching swimming in another swim school for at least two years. Even if they have different backgrounds, they all still go through the same training from The Swim Squad to make sure that they are able to provide the a quality instruction in swimming.
What services do they offer at The Swim Squad?
All lessons are held either at your home or at a community pool which makes it convenient for the parents and the child. They have different packages of swimming classes. The Group-er is eight lessons that last 30 minute each and designed for a group of three to five children in the same level. Marko and Polo are for a pair of two kids. The Lone Sharks is for one child. They also have the Single Salamander for one child in one lesson for 30 minutes. Infant Lessons are designed for infants aged six months and aimed to teach water safety knowledge and practices. Child Lessons comes in six different levels: Peewee Plankton being the first level, then Super Shrimps, Magnificent Minnows, Dynamic Dolphins, Wild Whales, and Shining Sharks. They also offer Adult Lessons that aim to provide you lessons at your schedule, improve triathlon time, and as a low-impact workout on joints. Another service is the Child Exercise Programs which are designed to help your child lose weight individually. A special branch of The Swim Squad is the Lucky Fin Swim School whose goal is to provide swimming lessons that does not have to be traditional.
Cost and requirements on running The Swim Squad franchise
You need to have a net worth of $25,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $10,000. Expect to be investing about $16,200 to $33,500. The cost of The Swim Squad franchise fee is $7,500 with an on-going royalty fee of 6%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. This franchise can be run from home. You will need about five to 20 employees to run one location. They do not allow absentee ownership.
What is included in the franchise package?
There will be one week training at the headquarters. You will be provided with a toll free phone number and assistance at the grand opening. You will be given access to the internet. Expect to be attending meetings and receiving occasional field evaluations. For marketing support, there will be ad slicks and regional advertising.
