Famous Famiglia is a franchise for a pizza restaurant. It was founded in 1986 and started franchising in 2002. It all started when Mamma Rosa made a promise to her husband that their children would live the American Dream.
She got to New York in 1970 with her daughter and four sons. The children were raised in chores and responsibilities. They learned and gained a lot of experience in the pizza industry. That was 1986 when they decided their first pizza restaurant in New York City. They opened several more and earned the title “New York’s Favorite Pizza”. They now have 98 locations all over the United States, five in other countries in Mexico, in Asia, and in Europe. Five locations are still company owned. They are commonly found in malls, airports, transportation hubs, colleges, shopping centers, universities, hotels, theme parks, casinos, arenas, stadiums, medical centers, motorways, military bases, and in-line urban downtown locations. Their branding is based on the saying “You’re only as good as your reputation”.
They have earned affiliations with big brand names such as the New York Yankees, Sic Flags Theme Park, Madison Square Garden, Palms Casino, Hersheypark and has also been featured on the Celebrity Apprentice. They have earned awards from Pizza Today’s Top 100 Pizza Companies, Hispanic Trends Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, Franchise Times, USA Today, and European Franchising Top 100 and European Franchising Select 50 just to name a few.
What is on the menu at the Famous Famiglia?
For whole pizza’s, they have the Famiglia Special which includes a choice of seven toppings. You can also have it Sicilian style which is thick crust. You may also choose only two or three toppings. Toppings to choose from are cheese, fresh mushrooms, pepperoni, fresh garlic, fresh peppers, sausage, anchovies, fresh onions, black olives, meatball, tomato, and eggplant. If you want to get it by the slice, you can choose from primavera, fresca, cheese, broccoli, spinach, and Bianca. For pizza specialties, they have pizza Bianca, Pizza Piccante, Hawaiian delight, primavera, pizza fresca, and chunky chicken pizza. They also offer gourmet pasta such as Lasagna, spaghetti marinara, baked ziti, and pasta primavera.
Other Italian specialties include eggplant parmigiana, chicken cutlet parmigiana, meatball parmigiana, and sausage parmigiana. These are served with a choice between ziti and spaghetti. They also have calzones in ham and cheese, cheese, pepperoni and cheese, sausage and cheese, broccoli and cheese, spinach and cheese, chicken and cheese, and beef and cheese. For Heroes, they have sausage parmigiana, meatball parmigiana, chicken cutlet parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, fresh mozzarella, and Italian combo. They also have salads like garden salad, Caesar salad, chicken salad, fresh fruit salad, fresh mozzarella salad, and antipasto salad which choices of dressings like ranch, French, Italian dressing, or blue cheese. They also serve coffee. They have coffee Arabica, espresso, decaffeinated coffee, frappe drinks in coffee or fruit flavours.

Expect to be investing about $350,000 to $500,000. The Famous Famiglia Franchise fee is $25,000 to $35,000 with an on-going royalty fee of 6%. Their franchises are also available in express or a kiosk.
