Their original headquarters was in Los Angeles until they transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1994. Chrysler acquired Dollar in 1990. It became under Penstastar Transportation Group together with Thrifty Car Rental, Snappy, and General Rent A Car. Snappy and General was sold. Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group merged with Pentastar Transportation Group in November of 1997. They are associated with deveral companies such as Travelers Advantage Members, BJ’s Wholesale Clun Members, and Veterans Advantage Members. They now have several locations in Canada, Aruba, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Caymen Islands, Haiti, Grenada, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, St. Maarten, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Philippines, Mexico, Saipan, Bolivia, Argentina, Columbia, Chile, Uruguay, Pero, and the United States. They currently have 94 locations in the United States, 40 in Canada, 289 in other countries, and 161 locations that are company owned.
