CompuChild Franchise

Compuchild is a franchise for a center that offers technology education to children. It was founded in 1994 and started franchising in 2001.

Their classes are done either on-site, schools, community centers, or in schools. They not only teach children but also extend their service to the parents. Classes are usually held either twice a month or once a week. Their programs are designed to be low cost for the parents to be able to afford to provide their children the computer and technology education that they need. Compuchild uses softwares and other academic peripherals that are appropriate for their age. They currently have 61 locations in 30 states and one location that is company owned. Some of their partners are KidZui, peeweepc, infogrip, Children of America, naeyc, Chester Creek, National AfterSchool Association.

What do their curriculums provide?

They sharpen the children’s creativity, innovation, collaboration, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, digital citizenship, decision making, and the love for learning.

What are their programs?

They have a program designed for two year olds. This program is specifically cut to adapt to young children’s short attention span.  For preschool, they have a program that applies preschool subjects in learning terminologies in technology. Here, they teach basic applications and the keyboard. The Kindergarten program gives an introduction to grade one including word-processing, multimedia, and spreadsheets. They also provide Technology Enrichment Camps in schools, daycares, and community centers around the country. In these camps, they do activities such as making books, movies, shirts and creating scrapbooks using digital cameras. Other programs are available after school. This program is designed for children in elementary. The after school program includes an introduction in computer programming through the LEGO robotics classes.
