The “Big Boy,” as most would call it, or the full name of  “Bob’s Big Boy Restaurant,” was started in 1936 by Bob Wian in Glendale, California. The Big Boy Double Decker Cheeseburger got so famous that it even inspired the birth of the comic book “The Adventures of Big Boy.”  It also had a book series by Frank Miller.
Their Glendale branch had history with “The Beatles” and a plaque was put up commemorating the Beatles but it kept on being stolen and they had  to replace it all the time.  It was also seen in the movie “Austin Powers.” Did you know that the Simpsons Lard Lad Donuts was based on Big Boy’s character? It didn’t stop there. In 2004, a parodied Big Boy was seen in the movie “Shrek 2”. Imagine the wonders this franchise has inspired. It obviously played a big part in the childhood of many a young American.

In 2000, it was bought out by Robert Liggett, Jr. With 65 years of proven success in the industry, you are a sure win having at least one. To date, it now has a total of 455 branches in the U.S.A. and in Canada. It has even reached Japan and has 296 branches as of September of 2007. No doubt that it will continue on to spread rapidly worldwide.

Fresh Three Egg Omelettes, Stuffed Potato Pancakes, Fruit-Topped French Toast, and the,  The Big Boy Favorite which is two fresh eggs, hash browns, toast, country biscuits or English muffin and choice of bacon, ham, Canadian bacon, sausage links or sausage patties, just to name a few.

How much will a Big Boy Franchise cost

Minimum financial requirement is $750,000 of net worth and an available investment equity of $450,000 per location to be developed.Total investment will be at around $1,300,000 to $2,500,000.

There will also be a franchise fee of $40,000 and an on-going royalty fee of 4%. This is for a term agreement of 20 years.
