Oxford Learning Centers is a franchise for an educational learning center. It was founded in 1984 by Nick Whitehead who has a doctorate degree in philosophy.

He opened the first location in London, Ontario, Canada. They offered enrichment programs and remedial classes for elementary and secondary students. He assemble a group of education experts that studied how students learn until they came up with the Dynamic Diagnostic Assessment system which is a propriety tool that helps them identify the needs of the child. The Dynamic Diagnostic Assessment became successful that they decided to franchise the business in 1994 while they expanded their curriculum to reach pre-schoolers and post-secondary students. They now have 24 locations in the United States, 80 in Canada, three locations in other countries like in the Middle East and in the Bahamas, and six locations that are company owned.

What programs do they offer at the Oxford Learning Centers?

For “Little Readers” aged three to six years old, they have reading tutors. They believe that children learn the most while they are young and they perform better in school when they learn to read early. In this program, they focus on phonics and the whole language through introducing kids to books and pre-reading, cultivating an aptitude for reading, and training early in reading competence. Beyond Tutoring is designed for students from Grades one to eight. In this program, they help students build confidence, academic excellence, develop strong learning skills, and improve academic abilities.

They start with having the student go through the Pinpoint Diagnostic Assessment. Advantage High School Success provides tutoring for Grades nine to 12. They focus on study skills, exam skills, writing essays, homework success, better grades, and increasing confidence. SAT Plus program helps students prepare for colleges and universities. It includes the Dynamic Diagnostic Assessment, Hint sheets, and Time-management skills. Académie Oxford is a program that teaches kids and teens French. This aids French immersion students and those who are attending English schools that has French studies. Summer programs aim to keep your children learning even on summers. They make learning fun and it will help their brains active as they prepare for the next school year.

You need to have a net worth of $500,000 and a total liquid asset of at least $60,000. Expect to be investing about $109,000 to $243,000. The cost of the Oxford Learning Centers franchise fee is $39,500 with an on-going royalty fee of 10%. This is for a renewable 10 year term agreement. They also require general business experience, industry experience, and marketing skills. You will need about three to 10 employees to run one location. They allow absentee ownership.

What is included in the franchise package?

There will be 12 days training at the headquarters that includes daily operations, staffing, and technology. There would also be quarterly training at your location.
